Hi friends and family! It has been a busy summer and we just wanted to check in with you all as the new school semester gets underway. We have a few big things on our horizon this Fall and would love your prayers as we jump in!

Doctoral Studies
Tyler is officially beginning his doctoral studies this semester! What an exciting journey. To briefly recap: he transferred out of the Masters of Divinity program and into the Doctoral Program over the summer. He is pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry (which is a pro-doc degree, versus a Phd…I know, a lot of academic things to keep track of!) We wrote more about this in our previous post if you would like to know more.
This semester he is taking a class called Colloquium. It is an introductory class for the doctoral program and so far it’s off to a great start! He continues to balance school, his full time job as the Campus Housing Coordinator, his part-time job as the Pastor of Young Adults & Communication at our church, and his part-time coaching job with amazing skill. But it is a lot on his plate! Please pray for endurance and capacity to invest in all these things well.
Baby Boy Coming SOON!
We hope to welcome our new son in just a few short weeks (or any day now!). We are all very excited, especially this very tired mama! Though this has been a draining pregnancy, it has been a very healthy one so far and we are very thankful for that. We are also so blessed by the community we have here in KC. Though our families are far away, the Lord has provided some great friendships with other ladies who have been able to help “share the load”. Though pregnancy with a toddler during a global pandemic is not the easiest, God has been very faithful to help me through and I am really thankful!
Both Tyler’s parents and my mom plan to be here for the birth and we are very much looking forward to having so many loving grandparents around!
Please pray for safety as they travel, a clear covid-test once we get to the hospital, a healthy and safe delivery, and a sweet transition to a family of four.
Young Adult Ministry at NBC
In our last post we mentioned the launching of a Young Adult ministry at our church. We were so excited to get it off the ground and build momentum! Then Covid hit and social distancing slowed everybody down. Even so, we have been able to have a few safe hangouts, as restrictions lifted, and are once again excited to see how the Lord will build this ministry!
Last month we had a “PB&J Party”! Prayer, Bible, and Jesus while eating gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It was a fun evening to spend time together, but also spend time in God’s word and in prayer. We are hoping to have a strategy meeting at the end of the month to cast vision for what the fall semester will look like.
Please pray for the Lord to build this group of young people into a close knit community who desire to know Him and make Him known. For Tyler to have capacity to lead well in the midst of a full workload and a new baby. For young adults to step into leadership roles with a shared vision for what God could do in this place.
A Titus Update!
Titus turned TWO this summer and we can’t believe what a big boy he is now! He is full of energy, loves doing whatever Dada is doing, enjoys any kind of ball, and keeps us laughing each day. He got to spend time with his six other boy cousins this summer, which was so special as they all live in different countries. He loves seeing other babies, so we know he will step in to his role as a big brother really well.
We hope you are all having a great start to the Fall and praying that you also know the Lord’s peace in the midst of these chaotic times. We love each one of you!

Love this update Abs, thanks for sending! Titus is about to have a buddy! Miss that little guy.
